Geolocalized tasks in Getting Things Gnome!

For the past two/three days I’ve been fighting with video in linux to make a screencast. I found out that recordmydesktop didn’t work in any of my computers (it was always so slow!). I finally got it to work in a old laptop, a compaq evo n1020v and was able to record the plugin working.
After that I had another challenge, to edit the four small videos into the final video and finally to be able to use the html5 video tag I had to add the ogg mime types to apache’s config.
Well.. the result was this video (still a little sluggish, the next one will be better):

For those that don’t have a html5 compatible browser, here is the youtube link or the direct link to the ogg video.

There are still some glitches in the plugin but in a general way it works ok. More features are coming soon!

    That looks incredibly cool !

    However, I’m wondering: why even associate a location to a tag ?

    I would have seen tags and locations as two orthogonal ways of classifying tasks.

    For example, I might have the tag @Work, and have tasks that I could do only when I’m physically at work while others could be done at home (for those lucky people who can work from home :)

    What application do you use for editing the video?

    You might give Istanbul (http://live.gnome.org/Istanbul), it’s a pretty awesome tool. Great looking work!

    Last time I was doing screencasts I found that gtk-recordmydesktop seems to be totally screwed, but qt-recordmydesktop works fine (yes, even if your desktop is GNOME). YMMV.

    Thanks for all the tips! :D I’ll try qt-recordmydesktop the next time!

    I also tried Istanbul but it had exactly the same problem as recordmydesktop.

    @David Sedeño
    David, I used kdenlive. I searched for some gtk app’s to do the same but kdenlive is great and easy to use.

    If anyone knows a gtk app equivalent to kdenlive.. let me know.
